Police are asking for the public's help in finding a suspect who robbed a Carlsbad bank Monday morning.

A 25 to 30-year-old man reportedly robbed a US Bank on El Camino Real Monday at about 11 a.m., according to the Carlsbad Police Department.

The FBI is also involved in the search. FBI officials said he presented the teller with a demand note for cash, followed by a verbal demand. The teller complied, giving him an unknown sum of money.

The suspect then fled on foot in an unknown direction. Police Officers combed the area for the suspect, but could not find him.

Witnesses described the suspect as a heavy-set man about 220 pounds and about 6'2'' to 6'3'' tall. He was wearing an orange shirt, black beanie and sunglasses, surveillance images showed.

There were no injuries during the robbery.

If you have any information to help police, call the department at 760-931-2115.
