Marijuana Device Prompts Investigation

Authorities were investigating a suspicious device in Sherman Heights, causing two roads to be closed.

Market Street and 22nd Street were closed both east and west while officials examine the device. Police also issued a SigAlert.

The device ended up being a smoking device with marijuana residue on it, according to police.

Authorities said they are starting to see more of this particular smoking device, and this is the third incident it has caused in San Diego.

The unit involves the use of butane, which makes it a bomb-like device.
