An alligator in El Cajon?
Sure, 911 dispatchers get some eyebrow-raising calls, but this one takes the cake (or is it bait?) El Cajon police were dispatched last Friday to a report of an alligator in the backyard of a home on Helix View Drive.
When police arrived, they didn’t find an alligator – but a very large iguana.
The officers took the reptile into custody without much incident (they were whipped by the iguana’s 5-foot tail once or twice), police said.
Once they discovered the iguana belonged to another resident, police returned the pet to his home.
