A driver who refused to stop for police crashed his car into a patrol car and then a fence before he was taken into custody.

The 60-year-old driver was taken into custody when the car chase ended in Linda Vista Thursday night.

It all started around 6:30 p.m. when police say they spotted a driver weaving in and out of traffic on State Route 163.

The driver refused to stop and took police on a chase.

The chase ended after he rammed into a patrol car.

The man slowly emerged from the car with dozens of officers and a police K-9 standing by.

Even then, it took officers shooting pepper balls to force him to surrender.

His identity has not been released.
