Pizza Man Hurt in Hit and Run Near SDSU

Pizza delivery man was struck Thursday night on Montezuma Rd.

A pizza delivery man was severely injured after a hit and run near the San Diego State University campus.

The accident happened Thursday around 10:30 p.m., while he rode a Vespa eastbound on Montezuma Road.

A dark gray truck turned onto Montezuma and struck the back of the Vespa injuring the 31-year-old man who was delivering pizza for Dominos.

The truck then sped off driving down 63rd Street, leaving the scene of the accident according to officers.

The man was taken to a local trauma center to be treated.

He survived the collision, but has sustained some serious injuries including a fractured pelvis according to San Diego police.

Five hours after the accident Taylor Schettler turned himself into SDPD.

Schettler will be charged with felony hit and run, there was no indication that drugs of alcohol were involved in the crash.
