The renovations to the restaurant at 3750 Sports Arena Blvd. include a kitchen remodel, expanded beer taps in the bar area and main restaurant, and a variety of water-saving and energy-efficient additions.

To offset any inconvenience to customers, the business is launching a “Shutdown Sweepstakes” where adult customers are eligible to win one of 34 prizes, including the grand prize of $2,500 in cash and $2,500 gift card to Phil’s BBQ.

To enter, customers who visit the Midway location during normal business hours from Dec. 13 to Feb. 9 receive a time and date-stamped entry form. Once filled out, they must return it to either Phil’s Santee or San Marcos locations during their normal business hours within 48 hours of the date-stamped entry form.

Among other prizes are a Phil’s cook on-site for 50 people; a barbecue for 25 people, and gift cards with a total value of $2,000.

Locally based Phil’s BBQ recently opened a restaurant inside Terminal 2 at San Diego International Airport.
