Petco announced Thursday it will build a new headquarters in the Rancho Bernardo area of San Diego – combining employees from its Miramar and Scripps Ranch locations.
A company release said a new “support center” on Via Frontera will consolidate all of Petco’s San Diego corporate operations under one roof.
“San Diego has been our home for decades,” CEO Jim Myers said in the release. “This community has helped us grow and this new facility gives us the opportunity for continued growth in our hometown.”
The 300,000 square-foot facility will help support more than 1300 retail locations around the U.S.
And yes, there will be plenty of pet-friendly play areas.
Petco hopes to move in by fall of 2015.
