A pedestrian was struck by a bus Monday morning in San Diego's Core-Columbia neighborhood.
The victim, a woman in her late-20s, was hit just before 7:30 a.m. near West Ash and Front Street, according to the San Diego Police Department (SDPD).
She was crossing the street on the 1300 block of Front Street when the MTS bus struck her while attempting to turn left onto the same block, SDPD officials said.
A Sig Alert was issued for Front Street and the road closed as officials worked Monday morning.
The woman suffered major injuries, including bleeding in her brain, SDPD said. She is expected to survive.
The crash is under investigation by SDPD's Traffic Division. Intoxication is not a suspected factor, police said.
