Pedestrian Hit by Car in Escondido

A pedestrian was hurt on Tuesday night after being hit by a passing car, Escondido police said.

The pedestrian was walking on East Valley Parkway and Quarry Glen in Escondido when a car clipped the pedestrian.

The person was taken to a local hospital, and on Wednesday morning, it wasn’t clear the extent of the person’s injuries.

A shoe, clothing and backpack were left in the roadway. The impact also caused the vehicle’s windshield to shatter.

The driver, who stayed at the scene, was questioned by police but not cited or arrested.

Alcohol doesn’t appear to be a factor, police said.

No other information was immediately available.
