Passenger Killed in Fatal Motorcycle Crash

The single-vehicle collision happened Saturday night in Rancho Santa Fe

The victim of a fatal motorcycle crash that happened in Rancho Santa Fe on July 22 has been identified by the medical examiner as a 49-year-old female from Escondido.

California Highway Patrol officials said the collision happened just before 10:30 p.m. on northbound Via De Fortuna in Rancho Santa Fe.

Officials said Escondido resident William Jimenez, 58, and his female passenger, Stephanie England, were riding his three-wheeled Harley Davidson motorcycle at an unknown rate of speed when, for unknown reasons, Jimenez lost control and veered off the road.

The motorcycle rolled down an embankment and collided into several trees and a fence.

Jimenez sustained serious injuries and was transported to Scripps La Jolla Hospital, CHP said.

The medical examiner’s report said England died at the scene after she was pinned down by the weight of the motorcycle following the crash.

No other injuries were reported.

Officials have not released information regarding the relationship between Jimenez and England.

Officials suspect alcohol may have played a role in this fatal accident. Jimenez’s condition is unknown.
