One eastbound lane of a Clairemont street will be closed until the evening after a water main break in the area.
The break happened at approximately 11:25 a.m. Tuesday at Balboa Avenue and Clairemont Drive.
When a City of San Diego contractorwas filling a 16 inch PVC water main to perform a pressure test, the main failed and the water burst out.
Balboa heading eastbound between Mt. Culebra Avenue and Morega Avenue will be closed.
Once the repair to the pipe is made, the street will need to be repaired before the lane can be reopened.
The San Diego Police are responding to reports of a water main break and will be assisting with traffic control for the next one to two hours.
