High-Speed Pursuit Crash Felt Like ‘Grand Theft Auto in Real Life': Victim

The suspects’ car collided with a parked car near General Dynamics at 28th Street.

A car driving at high speeds in an attempt to avoid arrest struck a parked car in Barrio Logan early Monday. A man sitting inside the parked car described the moment as "Grand Theft Auto in real life."

San Diego Police were pursuing a blue sedan traveling without headlights along Harbor Drive just before 5 a.m.

Suddenly, the suspects’ car collided with a parked car near General Dynamics at 28th Street.

Claude Brenshaw was in the parked car getting ready to go to the gym when he felt his car shake.

"I looked into the back and I thought somebody hit me," he said. "Then I saw about 20 cop cars."

It was "Grand Theft Auto in real life," Brenshaw said, referring to the popular video game.

Four people inside the suspects’ car jumped out and ran. Officers searched the area around Main Street and South 32nd Street. They found all but one of the suspects.

They identified the suspects as all under the age of 18.

Brenshaw was not injured.
