Jesse Hahn was recalled from Double-A San Antonio for Friday night's start against the Braves in Atlanta.
If he keeps this up, he'll never be in the minor leagues again.
Hahn threw 6.0 innings, allowing only one run and striking out four in the Padres' 5-2 win. Yes, you read that correctly. The Padres scored five more runs, giving them 26 in the last three games.
Keep in mind, this is an offense that has scored 26 or more runs in only three WEEKS of the 2014 season, and the season started on March 31.
All of the Padres runs came in the first five innings. Tommy Medica singled to bring home Chris Denorfia in the first inning. Medica had a career-high four hits. In fact, he had gotten a hit in seven straight at-bats before grounding out in the 9th inning.
The Padres got another run in the 3rd inning when Chris Nelson's sacrifice fly scored Carlos Quentin, then two more in the 4th on a Denorfia RBI single and a sac fly from Yangervis Solarte.
Rene Rivera singled home Jeff Francoeur in the 5th, but by then Hahn had all he needed. The young right-hander has made four career starts on the road, giving up a total of four runs in those starts and winning all of them.
