Padres Bats Silent in 2-0 loss to Astros

The Padres return to PETCO Park was not a pleasant one. They managed just six hits, dropping the first of a four game series against the visiting Astros.

Somewhere on Interstate-5 between Dodger Stadium and Petco Park the Padres lost their mojo. After taking two of three from the Dodgers over the weekend reality set in Monday. The Padres didn't produce any excitement or runs. In fact, the Astros won it 2-0 on two sacrafice flies. Scott Moore accounted for both of them, one in the first inning then again in the third.

Padres starter Kip Wells (1-3) pitched into the fourth inning before being replaced. He took the loss. Game two of the four game series is Tuesday evening. Ross Ohlendorf is schedueled to start for the Padres.
