Outage Leaves Friday Football Games in Doubt

Friday's prep sports schedule, including 18 football games, is in doubt in the aftermath of the power outage that gripped San Diego County on Thursday, reports the North County Times.

CIF San Diego Section commissioner Dennis Ackerman said Thursday night that all sports activities would be postponed or canceled if schools are closed. San Diego County superintendent of schools Randy Ward said all county public schools will be closed on Friday, and San Diego's CBS affiliate reported on Twitter that all Catholic schools will be closed.

The other sports that would be affected by postponements or cancellations are field hockey, water polo, cross country and volleyball.

"We'll have to do what we need to do," Ackerman said. "What that is, I have no idea."
