Opening Day, Still No Deal

Cox is set, waiting On Time Warner and AT&T

The Padres will have their games broadcast in San Diego County on the newly formed Fox Sports San Diego. Now we just have to figure out where to see the new station.

The Padres opening game at PETCO Park against the Dodgers is Thursday evening, but FSSD still does not have an agreement in place with Time Warner Cable and AT&T U-verse.

Negotiations are ongoing, according to one Time Warner official.

When Jeff Moorad stepped down as Padres C.E.O. recently, he said it was to work on getting the TV deal done as quickly as possible.

Time Warner's website says it serves more than 200,000 cable customers in the San Diego area. That's an awful lot of Padres fans who would be left in the dark.

FSSD has already aired a pair of Padres games on Cox Communications and DirecTV, and will be showing all 162 regular season games. Cox is showing games on channels 56 and 1056 (HD). On DirecTV it's channel 694.
