A woman was taken to the hospital after a crash on the northbound Interstate 5 in Del Mar Monday, the California Highway Patrol (CHP) confirmed.
The crash happened around 5:03 p.m. near Via De La Valle.
According to CHP, they received reports that a vehicle had gone over the side of the freeway into the brush.
NBC 7's news chopper captured video of firefighters lifting up the driver onto the bed of a tow truck.
Firefighters transported her on the tow truck to an ambulance parked on the shoulder nearby.
According to the San Diego Fire Department, the woman was taken to Scipps La Jolla Hospital with major trauma.
There is no word on the cause of the accident.
