An El Cajon police officer suffered a broken hand while trying to catch an alleged thief Wednesday night.
According to police, officers were trying stop a man on a stolen motorcycle around 6 p.m.
Police say Daniel Christopher Allen, 42, crashed the motorcycle into two patrol cars before stopping.
One officer and Allan were both injured and taken to the hospital. The officer was treated for a broken hand and released, according to police.
After being examined the hospital, Allan was booked into the San Diego County Jail on multiple charges.
Peach Avenue was blocked off between North Mollison Avenue and North 1st Street during the investigation.
