Two people were transported to the hospital with major injuries Friday morning after a collision in Oceanside, according to CHP.
The crash happened just before 8 a.m. on Winland Hills Drive and San Dieguito Road when a man driving at a high rate of speed lost control, a statement from CHP said.
The man's car spun into the eastbound lane and struck a woman in a small SUV. The man's car hit her passenger side and she was trapped for several minutes while responders attempted to rescue her.
The victim suffered major injuries and was transported via ambulance to the hospital.
The male driver also suffered major injuries and was transported via helicopter to the hospital.
The status of both drivers' conditions is not known at this time.
The collision is under investigation, but authorities do not believe drugs or alcohol were involved.
