No Charges Filed Today Against Coach: DA

The District Attorney’s Office declined to file charges Monday against a San Diego youth football coach arrested for assaulting a rival coach after a game.
Saivaauli "Coach Sa" Savaiinea, 32, was scheduled to be arraigned at 1.30 p.m. at the San Diego County Courthouse.
"We're declining to file at this time," said Steve Walker, a spokesperson for the San Diego County District Attorney's Office.
Savaiinea was arrested for felony battery after police said he punched and Eastlake Panthers coach kicked Mark Cannon, 32, after a game at Lincoln High School April 9. Read more
