A newborn koala joey named Milo got his first check-up the San Diego Zoo on Wednesday.
Moments after his birth, doctors paid Milo a visit for his first full, veterinary exam.
Doctors anesthetized and examined him thoroughly. He is healthy and back with his mother.
The zoo’s koala exhibit is currently not open to the public.
The construction of a new outdoor habitat called Conrad Prebys Australian Outback is under construction. It is scheduled to open in Spring 2013.
The San Diego Zoo is renowned to have the largest koala colony outside Australia.
