Nearly 300 residents in the east county were affected by an outage that began late afternoon on Sunday.
According San Diego Gas & Electric's website, as of 4:17 p.m., 274 homes did not have any power.
The outages were split into two, one being reported 3:30 p.m. with 15 homes affected and another at 3:47 p.m. with 259 listed as out of power.
The cause of the second outage was attribute to a problem in the overhead electrical system by officials.
The power could be turned on again around 6:30 p.m. Sunday at the latest according to the site.
Areas affected included: Lake Murray, Mission Gorge, Sycamore Canyon, Santee, Carlton Hill, Oak Grove, Warner Springs and Ranchita.
