National City recently received the top spot in Walk San Diego’s report for most walkable city in the county.
The South Bay town earned top scores for two reasons, according to Walk San Diego. The organization said the city has lower volume streets combined with a mix of destinations or transit stops, making it easy for residents to stroll around town.
Oddly enough, National City also had the highest rate of pedestrian collisions, according to the report. But Walk San Diego said it was able to overcome this for its high score with a high number of residents who walk or use public transit to get to work.
