Woman Suffers Miscarriage After Fight with Boyfriend: Police

A Spring Valley woman was 9-weeks pregnant when she was kicked in the stomach by the baby's father, police said.

A Spring Valley woman suffered a miscarriage after she was beaten by the baby’s father, National City Police said.

The woman went to North Clairmont Avenue after 1 a.m. Monday to confront her boyfriend about allegedly cheating on her, police said. The couple argued and soon began fighting.

The man punched the woman in the face and kicked her in the stomach, police said. The woman was 9-weeks pregnant with the man’s child, police said.

She called 911 and was taken to Paradise Valley Hospital by paramedics. At the hospital, the woman lost the pregnancy, according to police.

The man ran from the home according to police. An investigation has begun into the incident.

Officers did not identify the couple but described them as a 25-year-old Spring Valley woman and a 28-year-old National City man.
