Shipyard Cleared After NCIS Investigates Threat

Operations are returning to normal after BAE Systems received a threat to its shipyard in Barrio Logan Tuesday.

BAE Systems spokesman Karl Johnson said a threat was made to the company's repair yard on E. Belt Street Tuesday morning.

Johnson said the business worked with the Naval Criminal Investigative Service (NCIS) to ensure everyone was safe. It's unclear if their search turned up anything.

Employees were allowed to go back to work just before noon.

BAE Systems is a defense contractor based in London, England, that manufactures ships, planes, combat vehicles and security technology.

No further information was immediately available.
