Mustang Crashes into Rehab Center

Crash causes gas leak in building, two transported to hospital

A driver lost control of her Ford Mustang early Friday morning, crashing into a veteran rehabilitation facility, police said.

The driver hit another car before running into the walls of the Veterans Village on 4125 Pacific Highway at about 1:15 a.m., according to the San Diego Police Department.

The driver of the car that was hit was taken to the hospital with minor injuries. One other person was also transported to the hospital, but both have been released.

The woman told police she swerved to avoid something on the road, over-corrected and then spun out across the lanes of the highway before slamming into the complex.

The impact of the collision caused a gas leak in the building. SDG&E have capped the leak, but are still investigating the premises.

Police do not believe alcohol was a factor.
