A multi-vehicle collision on State Route 56 in Sabre Springs Friday night left three people hospitalized, one of them suffering major injuries.
The crash happened at around 7 p.m. on eastbound SR-56, just east of Interstate 15, said Monica Munoz, a spokesperson for the San Diego Fire-Rescue Department (SDFD).
According to the San Diego Police Department (SDPD), a young woman, about 20 years old, was driving her Chevy sedan northbound on I-15 and took the exit to Ted Williams Parkway. Police said the driver turned right on a red light at a "no turn on red" sign, hitting another woman driving a Ford Focus eastbound on Ted Williams Parkway.
The impact caused the driver of the Ford Focus to spin into oncoming traffic. The Focus was then T-boned by a man driving a Dodge Durango.
Police said two drivers suffered minor injuries in the collisions; one of the women suffered serious injuries, including multiple fractures. San Diego Fire-Rescue Department (SDFD) crews had to pull that woman out of her wrecked car.
All three people who were hurt are expected to recover.
The crash is under investigation, but police do not believe drugs or alcohol were factors.

The SR-56 east and westbound lanes were closed for nearly three hours due to the crash.
