A male motorcylist was arrested at his home Sunday after police said he hit a bicyclist in South Park earlier that morning and fled the scene.

The 28-year-old man, whose identity is being withheld, was charged with felony drunken driving and hit and run due to the alleged incident, which occurred at 12:35 a.m. in the 2000 block of 31st Street.

Both the motorcyclist and bicyclist were under the influence, police said.

The bicyclist rode into the path of the suspect, who was riding a 2007 Suzuki motorcycle with a 27-year-old female passenger, and the two vehicles collided, police said.

The male rider allegedly fled the scene and left his female passenger with the bicyclist, who was transported to a local trauma center with a broken pelvis.
