Motorcyclist Killed in Bay Ho Crash Identified

A motorcyclist who was killed in a crash in the Bay Ho neighborhood of San Diego on Friday night, has been identified as 32-year-old Colin Reed Citron, the San Diego Police Department (SDPD) confirmed.

The crash happened at approximately 8:51 p.m. on the 5300 block of Regents Road near Clairemont Mesa Boulevard.

According to SDPD, Citron attempted to pass an SUV and side swiped it, causing his motorcycle to go down.

He died at the scene.

A husband and wife had been riding along with the victim on two other motorcycles. They were not injured.

Their relationship to the victim is unknown.

The driver of the SUV, a 44-year old woman, was not injured.

A Sig Alert was issued for southbound and northbound lanes of Regents Road from State Route 52 to Luna Avenue.

Police say the motorcyclist had been driving at a high rate of speed when it crashed.

Citron lived in San Diego. 

No other information was immediately available.
