Motorcyclist in Hit-and-Run Near Barrio Logan Market Has Died: SDPD

A motorcyclist who was struck by a car in Barrio Logan on Sunday has died from his injuries and the driver suspected of hitting him has still not been located, police said. 

A silver BMW turned out of the Northgate Market parking lot onto Main Street as the motorcyclist, who has only been identified as a 32-year-old man, was traveling northbound on Main Street at about 7 p.m. on Sunday.

The rider slammed into the car but the car did not stop, the San Diego Police Department said. The car was seen heading southbound on Main Street.

The motorcyclist was transported to a nearby hospital with life-threatening injuries. On Thursday, SDPD said the man had died from his injuries. 

The driver of the BMW, which should have damage to the driver's side door, has not yet been located, police said. 

SDPD Traffic Division is investigating the crash.
