A motorcyclist died in Chula Vista Saturday night after a pursuit with police.
An officer attempted to stop the motorcyclist for speeding around 11 p.m. near Olympic Parkway and Heritage Road.
The motorcyclist took off on Interstate 805 south and exited at Telegraph Canyon Road.
He continued speeding westbound on L Street, Chula Vista police said, and veered into oncoming traffic on First Avenue near L Street.
His motorcycle hit the right side of a pickup truck and spun out. The motocyclist was thrown from the motorcycle and landed on a private driveway.
The motorcyclist died at the scene, and the driver of the truck suffered minor injuries.
It appears speed was a factor in the collision.

A part of First and L Street was closed to traffic as police were on scene investigating.
The CVPD Traffic Division is investigating.
