Motorboat Fills With Water

Lifeguards came to the rescue when a motorboat near the tip of Point Loma began taking on water

Lifeguards responded to a rescue call Sunday after a 15-foot motorboat began taking on water near the tip of Point Loma.

Lifeguards said the incident happened around 1:40 p.m. about one mile offshore, near the Dolphin Tanks surfing area.

The Coast Guard was initially alerted, but later called off once lifeguards were able to get to the motorboat.

As of 2 p.m., lifeguards were aboard the boat, pumping out the water and trying to identify any possible leaks.

No injuries have been reported.
