Mother, Son Robbed at Gunpoint in Home Invasion

The four men have been arrested, and are in jail facing charges of first degree robbery, according to police

A mother and son were robbed at gunpoint Saturday when four suspects forced their way into their apartment in Pacific Beach, San Diego Police Department (SDPD) officers said.

The home invasion happened at approximately 11:06 a.m. Saturday when four suspects, one armed with a gun, forced their way into the victims' apartment on the 4500 block of Bond Street, police said.

Four men, later identified as James Gonzalez, 27, Douglas Atwater, 55, Gregory Larson, 58, and John Roach, 60, entered the second story unit, police said. One suspect forced the woman and her son to the floor.

According to police, the gunman and his accomplices were looking for the womanโ€™s roommate, who wasn't at the apartment at the time.

The men went into the roommate's room and took several items before fleeing the apartment.

A friend of the victim, who didn't want to be identified due to privacy concerns, said she believed the roommate had something that belonged to someone else.

Police searched the area and took all four men into custody following the incident. The men have been booked into County Jail. They are facing first degree robbery charges, police said.

One of the suspects is facing a drug charge often associated with possession of methamphetamine.
