Young Mother Found After 4 Days

Ariana Khair, 19, has a 2-year-old son

The missing person search ended peacefully Wednesday for a 19-year-old El Cajon woman who hadn't been reported seen since Saturday in City Heights.

Ariana Khair, a mother of a 2-year-old boy, left the area of the 5400 block of El Cajon Boulevard, and broad search efforts spanned from El Cajon to San Diego's coast.

It turns out, they were not broad enough.

Khair was located outside the state, said Lt. Andra Brown, San Diego police spokeswoman, who could not disclose specific details as to the reasons for her whereabouts.

"She was gone because she wanted to be," Brown said. "She's not a victim of anything. I guess if she'd be a juvenile, she'd be a runaway ... She's an adult, and she's no longer missing person."

Khair's child stayed with his grandparents as police searched.

On Wednesday morning, detective Mo Parga called the case "curious" and said it didn't make sense.

"She loved her baby," Parga said. "That's everything that everyone is saying. That baby was her whole world. That's why we're pretty concerned."
