A Marine reported missing from MCAS Miramar has been found safe.
Military officials report 22-year-old James Jessen was found Sunday afternoon, about 30 miles from where he was last seen.
More than 300 marines participated in the search for Jessen, who disappeared from his barracks last Wednesday morning.
Investigators concentrated their search around local hiking trails since Jensen is an avid runner.
San Diego police are now investigating exactly what happened.
Jessen was not injured.
