Missing Man's Car Found in Jacumba Hot Springs

Jonathan Barmaki was last seen at his Buena Park house on April 30th

Officials are searching for a man who went missing from his Buena Park home last month.

Jonathan Barmaki, 27, was last seen at his house on April 30th, but was spotted on a surveillance camera at a National City Target around 9 p.m. that evening and on another camera at the National City Valero gas station the following morning just before 5 a.m.

Barmaki’s car was found at the Jacumba Hot Springs by Border Patrol agents. Inside the car they found his cell phone and his dog Andy who was dead. Agents believe the dog died of natural causes.

There were receipts from several stores, including a PetsMart in Encinitas where he bought two pet bowls among other items.

Barmaki has no known mental illnesses. He is described as 5’11”, 180 lbs, with brown eyes and dark brown hair. He was last seen wearing a black T-shirt, dark blue sweatpants and glasses.
