Missing Man May Harm Self, Family Says

54-year-old man suffers from bipolar disorder, depression and high blood pressure

The family of a man who went missing in the Point Loma area on Wednesday worries that their son may try to hurt himself.

Gregory Jon Wheeler, 54, suffers from bipolar disorder, depression and high blood pressure.

Update: On Friday, police announced that they found him.

Wheeler was last seen on Wednesday. After his family didn’t hear or see him for two days, they called police, saying they were very concerned for his safety.

Police describe him as about six feet tall, weighing over 200 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes.

He also has a scar that runs the length of his stomach, police said.

Wheeler drives a white 2004 Chevy 1600 truck with CA license # 7L83794.

Police urge anyone with information leading to his whereabouts to call the San Diego Police Department at 619-531-2000.

This is the second missing persons case this month in San Diego in which the indivuals suffer from mental and health problems.

Josephina Yolanda Lopez went missing last Friday. While police do not suspect foul play, Lopez suffers from type II diabetes and bipolar disorder.
