Memorial Set for San Diego Bay Drowning Victim

A memorial is scheduled this week for a man who died after jumping from an anchored boat in San Diego Bay.

Alexander Thomas Glenn, 23, of Oakland was with friends on the boat around 7 p.m. Saturday when he jumped into the water and didn't resurface.

Glenn was found several minutes later by divers searching near the south end of the Coronado Bridge.

U.S. Coast Guard personnel are investigating the incident.

The 2011 San Diego State University International Business graduate was active in snowboarding, skateboarding, soccer and basketball according to an online memorial page.

A memorial service will be held Friday, Aug. 19 in his hometown of Piedmont. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made in Alex’s name to the ASPCA.
