There’s been yet another loss for Camp Pendleton-based Third Battalion, Fifth Marine Regiment.

Squad Leader Sgt. Jason Amores died Thursday in Helmand Province. According to the Marine Corps, Amores was killed by an IED.

The 29-year-old husband and father is from LeHigh Acres, Florida.

Amores is the 24th member of the 3/5 squad to lose his life during the effort to secure the Sangin District in Northeast Helmand Province in Afghanistan.
