A convicted molester walked into a probation office with a cell phone containing child porn, according to deputies.
Escondido resident David Gentry, 41, was making a monthly check-in with his probation officer in Vista on Tuesday when the officer checked his phone and found pornography.
Deputies later searched his home.
“One of the pieces of evidence contained over 400 photographs of child pornography,” said Sgt. Leonard Mata.
Gentry is a registered sex offender who was convicted of lewd acts with a minor in 2003.
He was arrested for investigation of possessing child porn.
