Man Stabbed in Cheek Outside North Park Bar

The incident happened outside True North Tavern

A man was stabbed in the cheek outside a bar in North Park early Saturday morning, police said.

According to authorities, the confrontation happened around 12:15 a.m. in the 2900 block of North Park Way, just outside the True North Tavern.

Police said two males got into a verbal confrontation inside the bar and the fight spilled out into the street, where it got physical.

One man, described by police as a 5-foot-10 Hispanic male with a faded haircut wearing a black T-shirt, took out a knife and slashed the other man in the cheek.

Police said the victim sustained a six-inch non-life threatening laceration to the face and was transported to Mercy Hospital.

The stabbing suspect fled the scene in a grey Kia SUV and police were not able to immediately locate him.

The altercation is under investigation.
