San Diego police pursued the suspect in a stolen vehicle early Thursday in City Heights. NBC 7's Elena Gomez explains.
The driver led police on a pursuit and then crashed the stolen car into a City Heights home is still on the loose officials said Thursday.
San Diego police spent the morning searching around Hollywood Park north of Home Avenue and east of Interstate 805.
San Diego police responded to the report of a stolen car on Violet Street around 4 a.m.
When officers tried to pull the stolen car over, the suspect drove off in the area of Juniper and Sycamore. He drove into a cul-de-sac in the same neighborhood where the car was stolen.
The car came to rest just inches from the side of a house.
Pablo Flores said he woke up to find his father's car gone. His family reported the car stolen and then hours later he said the car showed up back in the neighborhood.
"I feel sorry for my dad. He's a good, hard-working man," Flores said. "He doesn't deserve something like this."
Flores said he was glad the car wasn't damaged.
Residents said the suspect ran through a neighbor's yard into a nearby park.
