Man Shot Over Stolen Minivan

The owner of a stolen minivan shot and injured the suspected thief in an apparent attempt at vigilante justice, according to San Diego police.

Police officers arrested the owner of the mini van and the driver of the van on Sandrock Road in Serra Mesa Sunday evening.

Officers said the 29-year old shooter found the minivan that had been stolen from his home a week earlier.

When he contacted the driver, he produced a gun and shot through the windshield, injuring the driver, police said.

The injured driver arrived at the hospital for treatment about an hour later, police said. His wounds were not life threatening officers said.

Both men – the owner of the mini van and the driver – are in custody while police investigate the shooting.
