The robbery happened on Baltimore Drive in La Mesa

A man was robbed at knifepoint Saturday morning at a La Mesa bus stop, police confirmed.

According to investigators, the victim was allegedly robbed around 6 a.m. while waiting for a bus in the 5200 block of Baltimore Drive.

Police said a gold-colored, four-door sedan stopped in front of the bus bench. A male suspect, described as a white or Hispanic male in his 30s with a goatee wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, exited the front passenger seat and approached the victim holding a knife.

The suspect held the knife to the victim’s side while a white or Hispanic female passenger, also
in her 30s, got out and grabbed the victim’s backpack. Police said she was wearing a gold-colored jacket.

Police said the male and female suspects then got back into the car, which was occupied by an additional white or Hispanic male passenger and driven by a second white or Hispanic female suspect.

The vehicle then fled the scene, traveling southbound on Baltimore Drive.

Police said the victim sustained a minor scratch to his side, but did not need medical attention. He ran to a gas station to report the robbery to police.

Officers scoured the area but were unable to locate the suspects or their vehicle.
