An elderly man was walking his bike over a bridge in Banker's Hill when he tripped and fell down a 30-foot embankment.
San Diego firefighters say at about 8 p.m. Monday night, the man was walking near the canyon at Third and Olive St. when he fell.
Rescuers pulled him out of the canyon shortly after.
He was taken to Mercy Hospital with head injuries.
