Man “Bear Hugs” Woman, Gropes Her at San Diego City College: PD

San Diego City College officials are warning their students to be on alert for a man who "bear hugged" a woman and groped her Tuesday night, school police say.

As the woman walking from campus at about 8:10 p.m., the suspect followed her from C Street, pulled her behind a dumpster and gave her a bear hug, grabbing her crotch.

When he let her go, the woman kept walking, but he once again hugged her and tried to unzip her pants, police say.

The suspect then let the woman go, and she walked to the cafeteria as he left the campus. The suspect is described as a dark-skinned man in his mid-30s, about 5-foot-2-inches and about 150 pounds.

At the time of the alleged sexual batter, the man was wearing a blue shirt and baggy, black pants.

The San Diego City College Police Department offers safety escort services 24 hours a day, seven days a week. To schedule one, call the college police at 619-388-6405. You can also call police with information about the suspect, if you have any.
