A man was arrested Saturday after unsuccessfully attempting to rob a Moneytree store in North Park, San Diego police said.

Antoine Rochelle, 23, was placed into custody at about 6:23 p.m. after an officer responding to a robbery alarm spotted him leaving the scene at 2702 El Cajon Blvd., police said.

Rochelle allegedly entered Moneytree, a check cashing and payday loan provider, and gave a clerk a note demanding cash.

Officers said Rochelle fled the store after he was unsuccessful in extracting the cash from the clerk, and a police sergeant made the arrest.

There were no injuries.
