A Normal Heights man was in police custody Friday accused of slamming a one-year-girl old against a dresser, twice.
San Diego police responded to a call just before 10 p.m. Thursday in the 4200 block of 36th Street in Normal Heights.
The baby's mom had just left after an argument with her boyfriend. That's when the boyfriend attacked the baby, according to police.
The child's uncle who was also home, was injured trying to stop the man from hurting the young girl, officers said.
The baby and the uncle's injuries are not life threatening.
