Brush Fire Burns on MCAS Miramar

    Crews battled a brush fire on MCAS Miramar Friday afternoon, officials said.

    The fire sparked just before 2 p.m. on East Miramar, scorching at least three acres. The Miramar Fire Department and San Diego Fire Department worked together to contain the blaze.

    As of 2 p.m., some flames were visible from nearby roadways, as well as smoke. However, MCAS officials said no evacuations or visibility restrictions were in effect.

    The fire scorched approximately three acres.
