Local Campuses Prepare For Voting Lines
In 2004, students waited hours to cast ballots

Long lines are a common scene on election day and have been a problem on local college campuses in the past.
At UCSD, campus workers are sending out emails and handing out fliers to inform voters about the issues, and let them know where they're supposed to vote.
During the last presidential election, students lined up for more than 3 hours to cast a ballot. At San Diego State University, it was a similar scene.
This year, there will be twice the number of polling places on the UCSD campus after what happened in 2004. At SDSU, there will be five precincts setup, more than ever before. They'll also have 50 to 60 volunteers, plus paid staff.
Each school has registered thousands of new voters for this election.
